Sometime, the Unplanned Moment Come

I just come in the office when it was unplanned moment come. The bajaj was burned abruptly in the front of office. In seconds, I was shocked and there is no idea that I can do. Help bajaj is useless cause the fire is very big. Then I remember my camera, took it and make some shoots. It is very lucky that the battery is good and the memory have space.
After I view the picture, I got the wonderful moment, the burning bajaj was framed with others bajaj and give some ironic scene…
It is very good if your camera is ready any time cause sometime the moment come without your plan before…
(the next question is how the bajaj driver continue his life?)

RAW format in Prosumer Camera

In this link we can read that Canon have add the RAW format for their prosumer camera. Actually, is not a big issue for Canon user. It is long time that we can get a customize firmware for Canon digital camera so we can get additional features.
In common pocket and prosumer, we can not see battery status and also get RAW format. But, by insert the CHDK firmware, which build by some people and share it freely, we can get those feature. If you wanna know CHDK, please go this website.
As I know, this the safe program and some people said, Canon officially accept this modification.
Finally, I have the CHDK file for S5iS and the uploader, so just wait for the right time to try it and explore the RAW format.

A Lucky Time when Visit “Monas”..

Why I call it is a lucky time. If we want to make a outdoor photo, one thing that make our picture become interesting is the sky condition. If the sky is dull, covered with grey cloud, our picture will be flat. Otherwise, we will get an interesting picture. But, we can not control the sky 100% as we want (except we use a panaromal help for this).
So, when I make the National Monumen, I am so happy when I found the sky is very beautiful. Even I do not use CLR filter, I still get the sky clearly and the shape obviously look. This condition can not be found everytime especially in this rain season here.

I use a big number of f stop to get wide DOF and to limited the light in the sunny afternoon. Then in my software, I adjust the leveling of the photo to get approriate brightness.

Why I choose Canon S5iS

It is about fall season in 2007, when I have budget to buy camera digital. It is just  like the dream come true. So, I try to browse any site that make review on camera. But, before I search, try to ask and read about the guidance to buy first camera. I found some clues, such as:

• What the purpose of the camera, as a hobby or professional or combination.
• If you want to make documentation of family, a video it is thing you can consider, cause sometime your kid expression can not be captured by still camera.
• Consider the budget that you plan. Maybe you have to add your budget as long as you get the best camera.

So, I make some criteria:

• Suit to my limited budget.
• Have manual setting cause I like to make experiment
• Suit to make video cause I will use as my family gadget
• Long zoom is preferable
• And of course a good quality

So, at that time I focus to some brand and type, cause the budget I skip the SLR. The price is higher than my budget. So, I compare the prosumer model and pocket model, but with the gap price is small enough, I think the prosumer have more advantange and give more flexibility to explore.

Then I go to www.dpreview.com, I found the Canon S5iS as the best prosumer camera for me. One advantage of this camera is it have a hot shoe (even until now, I do not buy external flash) but it is very helpful someday.

Now, I use this camera to capture all thing that interesthing for me…
